I saw two different things about warm weather.
1) I read that there have been cases in Australia and Brazil which are at the end of their summer.
2) I saw a speculation that the outbreak would be much less along the equator because people get so much sun that their bodies are making plenty of vitamin D.

The majority of the cases in Australia so far have been people coming into the country from "hotspots". So I don't think the weather here would have had a chance yet to impact on the spread or survival rate, one way or another. BTW the temperatures across most of the country are past the summer peaks. (Averaging daily maximums of 25 - 35 C, maybe?)

This news page Coronavirus numbers spike in Sydney as health authorities confirm another human-to-human infection - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) from the Australian ABC (the govt owned national broadcaster,) lists some international flights that had infected people on them.

Heard on the radio this morning that the total cases was now over 40, with person to person spread occurring from people coming into contact with those from overseas.

My 40 year old Doctor lectures me once a year about this. He's justified to do so. I'm 5'10", 195lbs. I need to lose 30. I know I'd be much better off.....

I heard an interview with the county executive of Kings county WA. I think that is the county around Seattle. He said that they hope to focus on protecting the most vulnerable people and try to slow the spread in hopes that medical treatments will be developed. My wife and I were talking about what we could do to protect our vulnerable family member. Having someone die would be horrible if we could have done something. i wish i had an idea of the time frame of this contagion. Weeks,months, a year???

Personally I would much rather have a loved one die from the flu as opposed to a horrible debilitating slow death that many of us have experienced first hand. ALS, Alzheimer’s, cancers, Parkinson’s diseases to name a few....

I'm glad that there doesn't seem to be panic around here. I think people are concerned. Looks like people may be trying to take measures to be prepared. Hand sanitizer is in short supply in the stores I have been in. The local paper said n-95 masks are pretty much out of stock. I have been trying to get a stock of non perishable food in case we can't get out for a couple of weeks. If things get worse than that I'm not sure what we will do.

China and India are the two biggest contributors to air pollution anywhere and the largest consumers of high sulfur coal ans have minimal pollution controls too. One reason I'd never consider buying a Mahindra tractor or one of those Roxor Ute's.

You could only randomly catch obesity like Corona virus if you walk by somebody on the sidewalk and they force you to eat a box of Girl Scott cookies.
..although they do pressure you to buy them! Those little buggers can be very persuasive....and they’re good cookies... a good cause...you know the story...10lbs later.

You are correct. Amazing how many people I see with COPD after a lifetime of smoking, carrying their O2 around. Not to mention the alcoholics... Can't even imagine the cost of those two to our medical system. And yet... we are worried about a cold virus.

Im hoping this virus is suppressed by conditions of warm weather, like conventional flu viruses. That will get us way further along on the vaccine development cycle.

The stories are mostly getting washed behind developing news but it won't be long before the onslaught of conspiracy theories start to reach public eyes and ears...they are bound to come.

Only time will tell but the COVID-19 virus may lead to the mother of all conspiracy theories...!

Lets see...mild symptoms in most healthy young adults...kills old people...hmmm...
