Corn vs Wood Pellet vs Gel Stoves

/ Corn vs Wood Pellet vs Gel Stoves #31
Sorry did not read all the posts on this subject but thought I would offer this. I burned corn for 4 years did not have any problems with it. Buy your corn at a coop in a wagon if you can find one reasonable in price than make a screen set at a angle so the fines will fall out, that will save a lot of problems that some people will have with auger set ups. Corn burners with auto clinker removal would be better but I do mine manual and never have to restart it. Big problem is when power goes out exhaust will stink house up cause no fan blowing to out side. Corn has more BTU's than pellets and in my area pellets are expensive. I also am set to burn wood and propane so I can keep up with price fluxation from propane.

You can also add shell chicken feed{make sure it's shell and not rock!!!} with the corn it helps cut down on the clinkers.

Just a outside the box thought. You should look at Alaskan rice coal stoves. They work just like pellet stoves. Fuel is bagged like others (or bulk) never draws rodents and never goes bad. I think you'll find a ton of anthracite rice coal equals more BTU than pellet or corn ton = cheaper heat.
