Anyone have any experiences with a Corn Stove? I'm thinking of putting one in my greenhouse. They seem a bit expensive but they may well be worth it in the long run. I'd be interested in anyone who has had one offer their comments.

Thansk!

Only thing that I ever heard of them was that you are always hungry when around one. Seems that they give off an odor like pop corn. I have a pellet stove and it works great. Burns about 1 40# bag of pellets in 24 hours and they cost $4.00 each. Burn about 3 ton a year to keep the house warm. Tonight it is -6 degrees, so we will use a little more. The dogs love it and the pup sleeps in front of it all night. Has no choice, that is where he small cage is .... at 3.8 pounds, and holding, I can't allow her to get cold.

Tell you this. Corn is one hot burning fuel.

Keep the fuel outdoors. You can end up with meally bugs if you don't.

I know of several folks around here with them. One friend grows his own fuel. He parks the gravity hopper outside the family room.

Looks goofy but we all know he is warm.
