Core plug was the culprit

Whoever suggested that the core plug caused the confluence of radiator fluid and lubricating oil hit the nail on the head. I took off the valve cover and noticed that one plug was completely off and another of the 3 was almost out, it was canted in the hole but still holding firm, even if it looked like it could have leaked a little under pressure.

When I flush the radiator and block and then add clean fluids, I will have the chance to see if the core plug was the only culprit. I'm not expecting any other problem like head gasket or cracked block, but time will tell.

I'm glad you posted back to let us know that you have found at least much of the problem. It's good that it turned out to be something relatively simple. Are you going to replace the plugs, or reuse them? I reused mine, but have been told they ought to be replaced.

It would be nice if you posted the findings back in the original thread so that the next guy who suffers similar trouble has a single route through the problem, diagnosis, and resolution of his issue.

Good work, hopefully you can get your tractor up and working again soon. You've had it down longer than it was operational, it seems.
