Kioti CK35 HST
I'm changing the coolant in my 2008 kioti ck35 I have a 50/50 mix of Asian coolant which is pink in color. i want to mix it with regular coolant to get a 60/40 mix. Anything wrong with this picture or will I be alright doing that? It's made out of the same stuff just different color and brand name. Just want to make sure before I put them together. Thanks

Drain out the Factory stuff and mix your own extended life stuff. My tractor was only mixed to 10 degree F protection from the factory.

For what it's worth (and not tractor-specific): I prefer to drain the old coolant by removing the lower radiator hose at the radiator. Then I reconnect it and flush by refilling with plain water, runing it up to operating temp, and draining again. Then I add the calculated amount of concentrated coolant based on the spec. volume of the system and the desired concentration (I always try for 50-50). Too strong a glycol concentration can cause an insulating film inside the engine. Last, I top up with plain water and check with a hydrometer. I think clean tap water is fine for cooling systems unless it is very acidic. Almost all coolant is mainly ethylene glycol however some is propylene glycol, which is less toxic. Ethylene glycol is toxic to all animals with hemoglobin blood. BUT the various formulations include different additive packages (e.g. water pump lubricants, anti-corrosion additives, wetting agents, etc.) which can be quite important in some applications. It is the additives that "wear out." I can't find any specific coolant recommendation in Kioti owners or service manuals don't but I suspect the stuff labeled for Asian cars would be fine.

I drained the old coolant and re-filling with new. I was just wondering if mixing the pink and green coolant would be a problem. The pink is for Asian vehicles, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc., which would be the bulk of new coolant in tractor. It's pre-mixed 50/50. I want to add more coolant for a 60/40 mix, and that would be the classic green coolant. I just don't know if that would hurt anything in the tractor. I live way upstate in the Adirondacks so it does get quite cold here in winter, have seen it 20 below here.

50/50 should be good for 40 below evidently some brands you can mix and others you shouldn't.

The coolant I'm using is Zerex Asian vehicle 50/50 mix. Doesn't say anything about it being for Diesel engines, that's why I'm hesitant to use it.

I no longer work as as a professional tech, but I once did. In Minnesota we mix coolant 60/40 with water. Distilled water is best. Old coolant mixes with new coolant. After the t-stat opens, then check the mixture at the radiator with a hydronometer to confirm mixture.

I found a small tag on radiator, after I cleaned it off, all it said was use a high quality anti-freeze for aluminum radiators. So I'm going to use the Zerex Asian anti-freeze, it should be okay. Thanks guys.
