I was thinking when I should flush my coolant system. I have a 5525 that's about 2 years old with 58 hrs. The manual says change interval is once a year or when ever you drain the coolant.

Then the maintenance schedule says every 1000 hrs. Do you guys flush your coolant yearly? If so what brand do you use to refill it?

Almost no one changes the coolant regularly. JD Cool-Gard II claims 3000 Hrs. Test strips will tell you the condition of your coolant. When you do flush and fill, be sure to use a coolant with the proper additive package for diesel engines.

Should be available at your dealer or most any parts store.

If you do change the coolant, consider the "Fleet Guard" at tractor supply. It is made for HD diesel engines and is probably less expensive than the dealer. Diesel engines should have low or no silicates in the coolant so steer clear of the automotive type.
