Local neighbors employee got the engine hot and now coolant is in the oil. I understand how the problem could be a bad head gasket or cracked head. I'm also aware of oil cooler & lining o-rings. But looking at parts schematic I don't understand if water pump can contribute to coolant in the oil? Could WP be the problem? Thanks,Jim

Water pump can't leak into the crankcase on this model. The water pump fits into the timing cover and possibly a porous timing cover could get coolant into oil. Haven't seen that happen, but is possible.

I thought from viewing parts schematic WP couldn't be the problem but I thought I'd ask. Thanks for reply,Jim

Oil pressure is far higher then coolant pressure. You have the potential of a head being cracked, block being cracked, cylinder sleeve or head gasket.

I just told my neighbor I thought he should pull pan, pressurize cooling system and look for drips. Cyl head has been removed, checked for cranks and new head gasket installed Thanks for replies,Jim
