Not familiar with this type of valve. It seems to turn 1/4 turn CCW and click into what I assume is the OPEN position. Is that right? Don't want to break it by turning it further.

So with the valve "open", nothing comes out of the horizontal 3/8" hole. I remembered to remove the fill cap.

The drain hole was full of salt/sand before I started. Cleaned that out with a small screw driver and blew it out with compressed air before opening the valve. No luck.

I made a half-hearted attempt to remove the radiator hose, but it seemed to be really tight (only 190 hours on a 2006 Model C). Aborted that attempt as I did not want to take it off and then be unable to get it back on.

I figure there might be some more salt packed in the valve so I shot a stream of cold water into the hole of the closed valve for 60 seconds. No luck.

Next I opened the valve and warmed up the machine until the radiator fan came on. I was hoping that pressurizing the radiator might force the clog out. No luck.

Any suggestions? I like to change the coolant in the next 30 days.
