Without getting into DCAs and a comprehensive diesel-specific coolant discussion, does anyone know if you can use the newer gold fluid in place of the traditional green stuff in our newer TC-series tractors.

I'm pretty sure the orange stuff is defineately off-limits, but I thougth the gold can be used most anywhere the traditional green stuff could.

Use fluid that is rated for Diesel use.

Use what the manual says to use at least while under warranty.

Personally for my tractors I'm inclined to use the low silicate green stuff plus adding SCA [SCA is needed for diesel engines, some antifreezes are pre-charged with SCA, read the container], and drain/replace somewhat more often, than get into the quagmire of what other type of antifreeze to use and maybe try to extend drain intervals.

The gold stuff won't buy you anything IMHO. I have 4 gallons of G05 I wish I had not bought since it is unsuitable for my application:mad: That is a 60 buck lesson....

Thanks.

You shouldn't have any trouble getting someone to take the gold G-05 off your hands. Pretty sure it's required in all newer Ford vehicles.
