Cool Or Creepy Things Found In The Bush Or On Your Property

I posted this in the "Tell us something" thread but I'll post it here as well....

My neighbor told me there was an old septic tank between my garage and theirs "Right under that low spot in the grass." So I started digging. About a foot down under the grass I found a suitcase. Inside the suitcase was a metal doll stroller, and about a dozen empty plastic syrup, mustard and detergent bottles..... I stopped digging.

Some of this stuff makes you wonder what story goes with it, if you're a positive attitude type person.
Or what kind of demented sociopath may have lived there at some point in history if you're not so sun-shiny.

When I was a kid, my father, brother and I were exploring a small, overgrown farm that my grandfather had traded some land for. Dad was alone and started making a racket when he discovered a chicken concrete chicken brooder in the bushes. He claimed he thought it was a still. Dad was wrong, the still was farther back at the corner of the property.

Just the heads? That IS creepy.

The creepy part is that they are not found in one area, they are scattered. And as far as I can tell there were no prior houses near these areas.

I don't concider myself a jerk but if a bald eagle was threatening my pets..... And I'm not much of a pet man either.

Do bald eagles attack live food? I heard they were carrion eaters.

In our area they certainly catch live fish at times.

Yes, as one flew in and grabbed my BIL's small dog, one second it was there the next it was gone.

A Redtail Hawk once took the straw hat off my wife's head while she was gardening. Not sure if he was after the wife or the hat.

Way back when the bald eagle's were making a comback number wise, during the winter, they would migrate down the upper Delaware River during the winter. I used to go out on "counts". They can and did take live Canadian Geese. They also feasted on deer that fell on the frozen river and could not get up. And of course they are known to be thieves.

I’ve found a few interesting things in the woods.
Once I came across a spring bubbling out of the side of a hill way back in some woods. I sat down to take a break and for some reason I started to clear the accumulated junk out of the spring and ended up finding an old milk glass cup buried in the spring.
Another time I was out turkey hunting and noticed a piece of rusty metal sticking out of the ground a few feet from me. Dug it out and turned out to be a blade from an old two man crosscut saw.
Another time I found a small safe in the weeds near a spot I parked to go out hunting.The door was ajar and I opened it and found some checks made out to a school from a town not far away. Called the sheriff and it turned out the safe was stolen from the school earlier that year.
