More on elevators …. I spent a little time in a couple of chicken feed mills. 150 ft tall or so with maybe 8 floors. One had a tiny 30x30 rattling wire cage like ponytug described. The other had a belt system. Basically a canvas conveyor belt about 12” wide that ran vertically and continuously from the basement to the top floor then back down. It had hand and toe handles/ledges every few feet. Just hop on and off as it went up or down on its back side. A very very scary ride. Let go and you’d fall to the basement, pingponging off the sides.

We had some of those in Germany in the HQ building. Supposedle one could ride up over and back down but I doubted that. IIRC there were little cabins you stepped into.

Grass isn't worn underneath where the dog is standing. If they dog was that active, the grass would be gone.

I'm betting it's photoshopped. Seems to me that it is fuzzier that some of the surrounding objects, and it's shape is a bit odd; not human, not canine, not primate, etc. No discernible tail.

This might not be the same but I have seen a. number of golf ball sized round white rocks turn up in northern Ohio. They looked just like a round rock. My BIL gave one to me and said it was from indians long ago. I believed that but later heard they were the used stones that paint companies used to mix their white lead paint. Rocks weren't round or white when they started but looked like that when they were done mixing. I still have one but can't find it. Maybe that's your rock and maybe someone knows more about it.

A quick search showed others have found 1.5" white rocks so maybe?

That would be about the right size, though1.5 inches seems on the larger size. The wifey says NASA was engraved in the ball. Someone else in the family has the ball so we are going to have to ask who has it.

The ball almost certainly was placed as a joke, but it would have been very easy to have never seen the ball where my father in law found it. I don't think we will ever know if it was a joke or not since many of my father in laws friends have died.

Back when I worked in a research lab, we had these rolling ball mills that used balls, some of which were hard, white ceramic, as the grinding media.

Other than the color, the balls in the link look similar to the NASA ball except it was very smooth, and the wifey says NASA was engraved into the sphere. Wish we had the danged thing so I could take a picture.

Funny thing is, I know exactly where my father in law kept the NASA ball. If he was still alive and in his house, I could put my hand on it instantly. Now, we don't know where it went...

It looks like some of the iguanas around my place, they can get up to 5' long and they make good target practice.
We also have them that run on their hind legs, its pretty funny to watch them, and they are fast ....
