I picked up a nice old McCormick Deering horse drawn sickle bar today. I've been wanting one for the front yard for a long time! It's a nice one!

Heck, grease it up, put a tongue in it and use it to mow your ditch banks via a tractor or ATV pulling it. I bet it will work as good as a new 3 PH mounted one.

I have a McCormick Deering #7 resting here and looking for a new home, I was going to put it on concrete slabs as a lawn ornament, then the D-I-L turned the front yard into garden.

My grand dad had one of those too except he used his. Also had a hay rake, plows etc. All were either one or two horse machines.

That is a place for your spare knives and guards. Also tools for changing the guards.

I have cut grass with it behind my Farmall C. It was meant for cutting hay/straw and cutting grass is a huge PITA. Right after I got it I put new knives on it and replaced some of the guards.

I still have the one we used here on the farm when I was a kid. I'm not sure if it still works or not, but when I was a kid I spend many an hour riding on it, mowing hay!
