Black Bellied Whistling Ducks on the Roof of my Mom's house. This was a first, usually they standing are on the fence, and sometimes on the barn, never on the house!!!

I can't help snickering that the right one thinks the roof is hot.

I wouldn't want it any other way. It's not as if they can put up thousands of miles of fence, and I wouldn't want it ruining the beautiful views even if they could.

A neighbor sent me this: Northern lights over our house recently which we missed.

I revisited an old abandoned mercury mine today. Near the top of the concentrator I noticed a raven's nest. Momma raven was not happy about my getting close and she would swoop down at me. But when she did, the half-grown ravens in the nest opened wide, expecting a grocery delivery. I had to zoom in and take a pic of those red beaks!
