Zipper Spider. For whatever reason, they are all over the place right now. I guess they like the extreme heat.

Not really a cool nature photo, but more of a cool what nature does over time to eventually reclaim anything not maintained photo. The Pflug Mansion as it is called was built near the mining town of Wauconda WA about 120 years ago. The owner/builder hauled the lumber in himself and built the house over a period of years. Money was tight so building was slow, then the mines played out. He and his family lived in the finished portions of the house before he eventually abandoned the house of his dreams in 1921. Nobody has lived there since.
I am just guessing that the log house was the original home and residence until the bigger house was livable.

Baby Turtle on my land. I was in my Mule and I heard some rustling in the leaves near me. I thought it was a bird, but realized it was right beside me. When I looked closer, I found a baby turtle. Then just a few feet away, I saw a hole in the ground with parts of an egg shell that where soft and leathery. It must of just hatched!!!!
