Just a while ago. A VERY STRANGE call, scream, vocalization from across my lake. Pretty loud because both Brownie and I could hear it and we were in the house. Grabbed my camera and stepped out on the porch. Now it sounds like a wounded or angry critter. Brownie stepped back into the safety of the house. I never saw anything.

I will keep the camera at the ready. I will NOT go out on the porch if I hear it after dark. Serious consideration - it could have been a cougar.

This handsome gentleman came to visit today. Browsing through the garden and then he decided to take a siesta. I easily got within about 40 feet of him. He looked at me when I first came out and I guess he decided I wasn't a threat and would look away or groomed himself as I shot pictures. He laid in the garden for about three hours before he decided to mosey away and nibble on the fruit trees.
