Just north of Cedarville, California I noticed several bald eagles around a working pivot. Quite a distance away so the pic is not sharp due to distortion from rising heat waves. But then one of them began sailing near me and my camera captured this moment...love autofocus; my old eyes and reflexes could never have focused the 600mm lens in time to get a sharp photo.

Ray is gravel pit boss/operator at the gravel company I retired from. He has spent decades photographing wildlife in and around Whatcom County WA. Eagles are one of his favorite subjects. He has a Facebook page loaded with his photography. I've often wondered what he is doing as a loader operator, he should be a professional photographer, his work is that good.

We usually have Orioles... this year they obviously added at least 2 to the family. This was the 1st time we have seen her feeding both the young ones at the feeder at the same time.
