Converting a sickle bar mower to a hedge trimmer

Hello Everyone

Has anyone ever converted an old Dearborn mower into a Hedge trimmer? It all works but I want to mount a hydraulic motor similar to to the Samari made by Cutthroat, I would need a slow hi torque motor and a gear of some sort to run the blade. Any Ideas or is some one has a used Samari hedge trimmer.

Old dearborn not made for brush. Don't do it. It "might" work for very small twigs, but will likely become clogged/plugged quickly even if it does work. Notice dual tooth sliders on the Samurai vs single tooth bar on dearborn......

I don't about the old Dearborn but,
the Ford 501? will cut up to an inch in diameter with sharp knives and guards quite easily.
I have also considered doing something similar but I wouldn't use anything with a pitman arm,
I would want a mower with a wobble box drive. I'd run a belt from the hydraulic drive to the
mower pulley as a slip clutch.

Thanks for the replies, I guess best bet is to try and find a used one as the new price is 1170-1895 a little pricey I think
