I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but I found this bolens 48 inch front mount snowblower for sale at a local farm for $50. I'm not sure about the model or year. I figured $50 sounded a lot better than $1700 for a 3 point snowblower, so I bought it with the hopes of converting it. It was a pretty easy conversion. Welded the 3 point connections on it - Basically extended them from the original bolt holes so the pto shaft would have a better angle. Converted a pto shaft to work with a 1 inch round shaft on the mower by putting a different end on the u-joint on one end. Put it on the tractor and started it up. Seems to run more than fast enough on my kubota bx1860. I think with the pto shaft it ended up costing me about $140. Still cheaper than $1700. If you plan on doing this just make sure the snowblower shaft turns counter clockwise.

Not too shabby!
I like it, any other picture of how you got the PTO to connect?

What was the original RPM input supposed to be on the blower? I assume you run it at around 540 pto speed.
I would guess that your BX might tear that thing to pieces if you are not careful.

Being front mounted I assumed that it was set up for a higher rpm and I was surprised that the 540 rpm's on the kubota ran it at a reasonable speed. It does not appear to be too fast or too slow. I was all ready to change the size of the sprockets inside the snowblower, but it appears I don't have to. Looks like it would be pretty easy to do, though.

As for adapting the pto shaft, I simply went to Mills Fleet Farm and picked up a #6 1" round pto shaft end and replaced the regular splined end with it. Used the original U-Joint on the shaft, but I needed to buy a new U-joint to so I could use the bearings because the clips went on the inside for the new end, not the outside as the orginal end of the shaft had..

If it works ( and why would it not) it is great and cheap way to clear snow. I love to see thrifty solutions like that. Those were just questions that came to mind.
