Convert atv sprayer to boomless?

I started out with a 200 gallon boomless sprayer run by the tractor pto and mounted on the 3 point hitch. Seemed like a good idea at the time, as I only had about 25-30 acres to spray. After using it one or two times, I got the boom kit for it, 21' I think, and converted it. In the process, I left the boomless nozzle in place and plumbed in valves so I could select either boom or boomless. I used the boom in larger open areas and in areas with trees and such, I could fold up the boom and switch to the boomless nozzle. This system worked very well for me. One added benefit I noticed immediately was that you get far less spray on you, especially if there's a little breeze. Using the boom puts the spray exactly where it needs to go, rather than spraying up in the air and hoping for the best. You certainly don't want something like 2,4-D or grazon drifting around the neighborhood.

One other thought--I think that 60 PSI is way too much pressure. Probably causes a lot of mist as opposed to droplet output.

I like the boom personally. I bought the county line 30 gallon trailer sprayer on sale for $220 and made my own carry all out of spare wood I had laying around the garage. Works great for my needs.
