I was boxblading my drive with my 4310 and 2060BB last weekend for the first time. When using the BB on the 3pth, I found it hard (read impossible) to return the BB to the exact same position after lifting it to turn around or reposition.

I dropped the blade to the desired position, then I set the draft control locking thingy. The problem is that after I lift, then drop to the stop, the blade would never lower all the way to the same position. The lever would actually back off a little from the stop. I found this to be really annoying. I thought I would be able to just drop it and let it rip (no pun intended). Is this common for position draft control? If so, is there some trick in getting this to work correctly? Is there something wrong with my rockshaft? Am I being too picky?

I have the same problem with my LX4 on my 4010. I marked a position on the 3 pt control with a marker pen. It just isn't the same every time I drop it. I have to look at the skid on the LX4 in relation to the ground. Fortunately, it's not so wide that I can't do that.

I've thought about putting check chains in place. Guess you could do that with a BB, too. Chains aren't the best for fine tuning, though, because of the length of the chain between links. That's about an inch.

Best would be adjustable quide wheels in front for both the LX4/5/6 and BB.

ive found that sometimes if you go beyond the set point and return to it you get better results

For good precision control of the depth of the BB, I would look at gage wheels or the check chains. But the 'going past the stop and back up to it' trick suggested may do what you need.
