I've also been looking for an Excavation/Contractor site similar to this or Lawnsite. Does anyone know of a good one? I'm looking for a site that is focused on the business side of dirt work, not just the equipment.

I have looked far & wide for similar. This is the best site of them all, but is geared toward compact equipment users\owners, and not toward business owners IMO. A new site that is geared toward the business end, and the larger stuff as well as compact equipment is here:

BRL,

Looks like you have the makings of a nice site. I see you are a moderator over there, keep up the good work. I emailed the link to my dad and brother, I think they will appreciate it. Here are my dad's 2 toys. My brother has a JD510B.

MDNick,
Thanks for the kind words, and for sharing the link. We are hoping to fill a void where we haven't seen any options available. Let me know when you get there if you use a different name. And get those machine's pics posted, they are great!

Those are a couple of nice International dozers. I really
liked the bucyrus-erie blades for rough clearing.

ljh2,

Yes, they are a couple of nice machines. Big Red was bought as a parts machine for Old Yeller, $500. When we got it home we discovered that it really is in better shape than Old Yeller, so now we are restoring both of them. Big Red was cosmetically in rough shape, but after sand blasting and painting she looks good. The bull blade on Big Redis a horse, labeled as a Drott, but the system is definitely Bucyrus Erie. Part of dad's christmas present from me is new cutting edges for Big Red and new master pins for the track. All are obsolete. Go figure, Big Red is a '43 to '47 model, going by the engine serial number, the machine serial number plate is long gone. She was a veteran, when sand blasted OD green was under yellow. Oh the stories these machines could tell.

Nick
