I am considering getting a BX24 because of its size and the backhoe. ilike my 2305 a lot, i have the 200cx and 54 mmm but no back hoe. the 24 is a bit smaller and will fit my trailer better and I can start out with a new warranty not that I ever neededit for the JD, what do you think?

Why wouldnt you just get a backhoe for the 2305 since you already have a tractor w/FEL. Wouldnt that basicaly be the same as the BX24
260 Backhoe

John Deere is one of the few that allow you to get a factory backhoe with
your existing tractor. Is there really that much difference in size between
the 2305 and the BX24? When I was shopping, I tested them both out and
really thought the size was close. If you like the 2305, then you will def
like the 260 hoe.:D

I love my BX24, but I would not be in a big hurry to switch. I like the FEL better on yours and the way the BH is integrated on the BX is much more elegant to me on the Kubota. Having said that, I would not switch if I were you (buy some other toys!)

It's just the backhoe is 5k and hopefully the difference will be less or about the same. I have the extra wheels and the tires I really don't need and a 54 inch mmm but would like a 62 inch mmm. I really don't need a front snow blade because the fel does the snow just fine and I really don't like where the hoses hook up for the fel because I have a Protero blower for grass on the deck that's in the way of getting to them easily. Plus a new warranty and a new tractor, that's all!

whatever you do, whereever you go, go with competing deals in your hand - works like a charm.

I agree with bx. I have a bx myself, but I checked out the 2305, and may have bought it if not for the good deal I got on a used machine. I like the 2305 FEL bucket; I think it was detachable, QH style.

And, I liked that you didn't have to fold the ROPS to get the machine into the garage. I friggin' hate that about my BX23. Barring that, they are both tremendous machines. Betwwen the trade-in hit on the old machine, and the cost of a new machine, I would think just buying the BH for your JD would be better.

You sure you ain't just bored?

"You sure you ain't just bored?"

Rip,

I think you're onto something. Stuarth just needs to spice-up the relationship with a new 260BH.

Aint that the truth...thats probably the single best piece of advice when shopping.
I know the attitude was a bit "thats the price" when I first starting...but once I had my mind made up as to WHAT I wanted, all I said was "well I can go get an orange one in my driveway for $XXk" then they threw the pencil in the sharpener and really got to where I wanted to be.

In some markets...I wholeheartedly believe (and have seen) it almost being cheaper to sell off the machine private sale and then walk to a dealership and strike up a price for a bigger machine with more attachments for only a few bucks more..

One more thing to consider is that your 2305 is a known good working machine. I don't think any of the major manufacturers are prone to selling defective machines nowdays, but I suspect a lemon does still squeak through now and then.

I would just be reluctant to trade something that you know works for something unknown.
