I'm considering converting my 881 from a 6V positive ground to a 12V negative ground system. I've never done anything like this and was hoping for some tribal knowledge of what parts would need to be replaced, how long it would take someone doing this the first time, and what I should expect to spend?

TIA.

I have converted two of my tractors, but its been a few years and I dont remember a total cost sadly. The linked article is what I used for both conversions as it gives a wire size and very detailed instructions. I did use a marine grade alternator so it immediatley begins charging without having to rev up the engine. No problems years later with either conversion. I pieced my conversions together myself and did not buy a kit.Yesterday's Tractors - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors
