KUBOTA L175
Just acquired a Kubota l175, and was told by the previous owner to put hydraulic oil in the transmission filler.Today I received an on line owners manual [partial] which says to put sae80 oil in the transmission, and makes no mention of hydraulic oil. This is my first tractor, so I am at the rookie stage, but do know that gear oil and hydraulic oil ,are not the same viscosity.Hope some one can clear up my confusion.

These days most hydraulic oils can lubricate transmissions just as well as the heavier (SAE80) transmission oils. That's what modern hydraulic oils like Super UDT do. My B7800 uses Super UTD for the hydro, rear differential, and front differential. Still, it would be best to use what the L175 owners manual recommends.Kubota UDT/SuperUDT Specifications
