Concrete for material bays

There is an area on my property where I want to put in some material bays. Is there anything that I need to know about the concrete that I should use as the floors in these bays? How thick? Reinforced? The bays will often have just mulch, but we do also get 2a stone delivered once a year or so, and that's 22-24 tons dumped from a tri-axle dump truck.

I'd love to hear some wisdom on this one, too. I'm looking to build a three-bay composter.

The weight of material in the bays will be nothing compared to point loads while loading/unloading. Will you have a tri-axle "in" the bay when they dump, or can they stop short and dump into the bay? At the very least, you're going to be driving back and forth a lot with your loader. Any idea how much weight is going to be sitting in any given bay?

My quickie answer for a composter is to not put anything down. Let the material sit on bare earth; believe it or not, the worms and such that will migrate out of the dirt will help w/ the composting process.

And, for the record, that's what I did when I built my manure composting area.
