thanks for all the nice words. I bought the colorant from a company that makes pigmented patios and such, that's why the bag was labeled per cubic yard. I'm pleased with the way the color turned out. I've used on a previous project the stuff Home Depot sells and that stuff is a waste of time.

For greater stain resistance, a film finish similar to polyurathane is available. I was just looking for something less glossy and more natural looking. In a couple years, a may wish I'd picked the "poly" coating

It's just so hard to believe those counter tops look so nice. Joe - do you polish the top with some type of super fine abrasive material? Those tops look every bit as nice as any marble tops I've ever seen. The effort was DEFINITELY worth it.

Thank you! I only hit the top with a 200 grit diamond pad. It's on the random orbit sander and I'm wetting with a spray bottle.
The step before in the video I'm filling in any voids with 100% portland dyed to the same ratio.

Nice looking result. Good job! We have one in our laundry room that the original owner did, but it isn't nearly as nicely finished as yours. I still love my granite though, but this solution is certainly a couple orders of magnitude less expensive.
