Once a year I back up my digital pictures, burning them to DVD.
I use Drag and Drop DVD burner, it's pretty simple just a little slow.

The problem is that when you view the dvd afterwards all the different file views have the blue Internet explorer (e) in front of it.
It's especially annoying when viewing the thumb nails, the large blue e is right in the lower left quarter, blocking a large segment of the picture.

When I click the thumb and open the picture it's not there, only on the thumb picture. Anyone know why this is???

Seems odd, what does Internet Explorer have to do with burning discs?

Thanks, JB.

check to see if you can change the file type, ie save them as .jpg, or .jpeg, and that may remove the explorer association, and therefore the logo.

It's also a possibility pictures (all file types) are associated with Internet Explorer or it's the default viewer for the Drag and Drop program.
Try to Drag and Drop program first. Use the help files, Options (or Preferences) commands.
If it's not in the program, use the Windows help files for file asociations. I'd describe one method here, but it'll depend on which operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7) you're using.

If you burned pictures as a jpg, than they stayed jpg. It is not actually the disk, but the computer setting. The computer knows - because once somebody told her (PCs must be females, they are temperamental) - to always open the file using IE. All you need to do, is to right click any .jpg file on your computer and select from the menu Open with/Chose program. From the list of available software pick the one you want to use to open that file and check the radio button on the bottom - Always use this program to open similar files. That will change the icon to the one of that software.

Well thanks everyone, looks like I some how sold my soul to Microsoft with the click of a mouse button.

When I check the properties of my pictures on the hard drive, it says
"opens with" Microsoft office picture manager,
I do use that program to view my stored pics just because it's easy and I got use to it. There is an option to open pics with IE but that's not chosen.

also says
"type file" JPEG image

Definitely having issues with DVD player, first I had to reinstall codecs, and when I put a blank dvd in, it shows it has zero free space and zero used space. but with the drag and drop it still allows to be copied to?

It took about 12-15 minutes to copy 3.5 gigs, is that OK.

Oh well this is a 5 year old machine and have been considering getting a new one. It's a Sony Vaio and has been pretty much flawless otherwise even with 5 users in the household.
So I wont fret over this to much.

JB.
