compatibility of grill guard with front suitcase weights

Fellow Kubotans:

I have a grill guard on my L3540-HST3 that came with my LA 724 loader. My dealer is telling me that I cannot install the weight bracket for suitcase weights on this grill guard, but I have to buy a different grill guard for $275. The other grill guard will interfere with the operation of the loader, so I would have to swap the grill guards again when I took the weights off and put the loader back on!

My dealer is checking his sources to confirm, but I wondered if anyone else has run into this problem and how it was solved. I guess I can have something fabricated for hanging weights, but it just seems like a crazy design if this is true. I can't be the only person who wants to add front weight for mowing hills with the loader off.

Someone may have done it, but if you provide photos of what you have now, it would generate some adaptation ideas from those who aren't familiar with your exact equipment.

I think the weight bracket will not allow the grill guard to tilt back to allow raising the hood.

Thank you for that. I'm dense and I didn't follow, though. My current grill guard does not tilt back, and the hood raises from the front, like most cars.

Anyhow, I'm mainly asking if it's true that I can't use the Kubota suitcase weights with the grill guard that came with my loader.

I use the bottom. Of the grille guard on my B 2620 to put Kubota suitcase weights on- I can only get 2 on instead of 3- it works for me.

I wanted to do the same thing with my M9540. I added a weight bracket to the existing guard. Any fab shop could do that for you very easily if you can't. And it could certainly be done for less than $275. Without pics of your situation it's a bit hard to tell though.

I don't have any front weights but my grill guard is the same as yours and I don't see why I couldn't hang weights on it. That was always my plan if I needed to.

Trying to remember my Brother's 3240 guard???? I don't think you could hang weights on it??? I'm wondering if they offer two different types of guards as his dealer is suggesting???
