Hi,
I found a site TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors that gives specs on many tractors. The JD790 is physically much smaller - 2100 lb vs 3100 lb; 3pt lift capacity 815 lb vs 2764 lb; rear tire size 12.4 x16 vs 12.4 x 24; hydraulic gpm 5.6 vs 12.7.
The JD has 30hp and the Kioti has 28hp. Hope this helps.

You have to be careful that one compares apples to apples here. The 790 is lighter, but not smaller dimensionally. I'm not positive, but I'd bet the 815 is 24" back. The CK27 24" back is something like 1900. The CK27 lists total hydraulic pump gpm. Most manufacturers separate power steering from auxiliary hydraulics. Again, not sure, but Id bet the JD number is just auxiliary. The CK auxiliary is something like 7.2 gpm.

Still the CK clearly out specs the JD. The JD is an older, tried and true design that is a basic dependable tractor. Doesn't have the bells and whistles that the newer tractors have.

I did a while back but honestly I do not remember the details. I have been warned that the data on Tractordata is not always accurate so double check.

As the old adage goes, drive em both and that will help you.

Correction - the 3 pt lift is listed at 1764 lbs (not 2764) for the CK 25 - 35 also I stand corrected on the GPM of the hydraulics. I believe they are quite different tractors in capabilities. Not necesarily better of worse just larger and smaller.

The specs are readily available on each manufacturers' website.

Just take a look at the rear end of each tractor and compare the visible 3-PT hardware. Compare the thickness and width of the arms. I think you will find the Kioti is considerably beefier.

I looked at the 790 before I bought mt CK30. The 790 is a straight gear drive. It has no shuttle shift, it is not synchro shift and weighs a lot less. BTW the 790 is also a discontinued model. At least that is my understanding. If you can get by with the name brand hype the Kioti is far and away the most bang for you buck. JMHO
