Compact tractor for grading long and steep driveway?

/ Compact tractor for grading long and steep driveway? #21
High gear on a HST is really only for flat ground. My Kubota has a two speed HST motor so it acts like a 6 speed. Even in M (high) it'll start to bog down if I push the go pedal to the floor on some of my steeper hills. If pulling a grading scraper I use M(high) to start off with but once I get some dirt built up I have to shift to M(low) and on occasion into L (high). I wouldn't replace what you have now until I was able to test out what ever you think you might need otherwise it may not meet your expectations. Since none of us are there to watch what you are doing we can only guess. My guess would be that 40hp may not be enough to do what you would like. I think I would be looking at something in the 60hp range or accept going at a slower pace.
