When I started the reading the thread, the first thing that popped in my head was that this was a perfect application for an electric car. 
If she keeps the current car she will driving the severe service schedule and needs to maintain the car accordingly.
Years ago part of my drive got me stuck in heavy traffic for a few miles, 10-15 minutes, most days. I figured the longer part of the drive and longer driving that I frequently did on each tank of fuel would "clean" out the engine/oil. I was wrong.
I do UOA on the oil and on that oil change the fuel was at 5% which is on the line of badness. Thankfully the traffic and my route improved and I have not seen that level of fuel in the oil again.
Make sure she follows the severe duty schedule.
