Took these last night. There were some clouds, but they came out ok.
Also took a couple facing south to catch the Milky Way, and a couple of planets.

Great pics, DJ1701! What are the photo details (camera and settings) you used? Especially of the Milky Way. I struggle to find good settings for photographing that.

I took a few pics last week (7/13) when it was peak visibility for me here in MN.

Pics with Canon 80D and Canon EF 70-200 f2.8. Exposure from 2-6 sec and ISO 1600-2000.

This one has an airplane in frame with comet:

These two have a satellite in frame (upper left and then left of comet):

Rob, Those are nice closeup pics. What did you use, may I ask?

I used a Canon EOS 6D. The closeup pic was with a Canon 70-300 4.0 to 5.6L. Settings were 70mm 2.5 seconds at 4000 ISO. It's not a fast lens, so I boosted the ISO.

Milky Way pics I used a Tokina 16-28mm 2.8 Settings were 16mm 16 seconds at 1600 ISO.

Thanks
Dave

Pic details, top to bottom:

Canon 80D and Canon EF 70-200 f2.8, 140mm, 3.2s, ISO 2000
Canon 80D and Canon EF 70-200 f2.8, 70mm, 3.2s, ISO 2000
Canon 80D and Canon EF 70-200 f2.8, 70mm, 8s, ISO 2000
Canon 80D and Canon EF 70-200 f2.8, 70mm, 8s, ISO 2000

I'll have to try my 18-55mm lens and settings like yours for Milky Way one of these clear nights.

Thanks for the "Heads Up" guys. I was able to view it even with my poor eye sight....using some binoculars.....even with the city light pollution around here.

Cheers,
Mike

We went out last night, but there was no breeze and a band of clouds right where it was supposed to be! Stars below, stars above, middle blocked by clouds. Grrr... raining now, so not tonight either.

Those are some really nice pics. Great captures!

Moss, you sound like me trying to catch a glimpse of it. Same deal with the clouds, last night. No breaks in them. Unfortunate.
