How about all that "LOTTERY" money that was supposed to go to education. I have to leave when that discussion comes up and my wife is in the room.

My kids went to The University of Michigan and are now working as engineers making $80,000.00 a year. The books are worth every penny and compaired to tuition and room and board are down right cheep.

Not much respect for a copyright, eh?

Cute.
I figure that if the professor/school/bookstore/establishment is going to rip me off, then it's OK if I beat them to it.
I bought plenty of books, and still have many. Good ones are keepers, and Sir Banister Fletcher's "A History of Architecture" doesn't get out of date. The useless ones were the ones that got done on the machine.

Of course, as a starving college kid I and many others lived by the words of Bertolt Brecht: Grub first, then ethics.

I have had good luck using a website call Half.com.....recently it was bought up by ebay, but it is a clearing house for students to sell their used textbooks. Most I've gotten were 40-60% of the new costs.

Also try to find upper classmen who have already taken that class to buy their books from last year......
