George; Ever see a big diesel start when it's cold? I've started big trucks before in the cold, and you'd swear you were burning a pile leaves. My Stroker and TC both puff when it's cold. I believe it's nothing more than unburned fuel from the initial squirt from the injectors. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

George also diesel fuel doesn't like cold weather either? It can gel, anti gel is cheap insurance.

I just put this 300w 120vac radiator hose heater on my CK30HST last week, it promptly went down to 20 deg F and when I leave it turned on for a couple hours, it is nice and warm and starts without the glow plugs.

KC,

How cold does it have to get before geling becomes a problem? In this part of Texas, we have just a few days that it gets really cold.
(teens or low 20's, very rarely single digits).

BTW, my 14 year old son is a junior fireman for the local VFD. He loves it.
