MF 165
Hello,

I have a 1972 (?) MF 165 with a Perkins gas engine, Model # AG4.212. The Operator's manual calls for Champion UJ8 plugs gapped at .025". Those don't seem to be available up here but they cross reference to Champion J8C. However, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the gapping range for the J8C is from .033 to .040".

My question is, can I/should I gap the J8Cs to 0.25" or alternatively, is there a better spark plug for cold weather starting for the MF 165?

Thanks for any advice or recommendations.

I'd gap them at .025", to help with cold starting AGCO has a engine block heater for the AG4.212 AGCO part number 773323M92.

Thanks, Kenneth. I added the block heater some years back and it was money well spent. We had record cold and big snow here in Michigan's UP last year and I want to make sure the old girl can blow me out all winter.
