Hello,
I have a 1972 (?) MF 165 with a Perkins gas engine, Model # AG4.212. The Operator's manual calls for Champion UJ8 plugs gapped at .025". Those don't seem to be available up here but they cross reference to Champion J8C. However, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the gapping range for the J8C is from .033 to .040".
My question is, can I/should I gap the J8Cs to 0.25" or alternatively, is there a better spark plug for cold weather starting for the MF 165?
Thanks for any advice or recommendations.
