Coin collection inspection and grading advice

I’ve been through a similar situation with my coin collection, and here’s what worked for me. First, I sorted my coins into basic groups like era or type to make it more manageable. Using a good coin reference book or app helped me identify them quickly. For faster results, I invested in a coin magnifier, which made seeing details a lot easier. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, consider reaching out to a local coin dealer—they can give you a hand with identification and valuation.

Collecting coins has been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. It was an enjoyable hobby over the years, but I no longer have the time for it. Sad to say the rather sizeable collection now just sits in my safe. Lately, I've been thinking about taking it to a few local numismatists for an evaluation. I don't have the time to do individual coin evaluations, and would prefer to sell in bulk if the price is right.
