Some of you may recall the last coffee thread where I stated I was addicted to Diet Mountain Dew (for the caffiene mostly). Well, since then I've been working more hours and have wanted a more efficient caffiene delivery system. This site caffiene confirms that coffee is about the most efficient transport system commonly available. So, over the past couple of weeks I've been developing the taste for the stuff. I am happy to report that I'm hooked /w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif Drinking it black and already up to several cups each morning /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Maybe this weekend I'll experiment with some exotics /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

So Thomas, Pete and all the other coffee lovers out there, I raise my (now empty) cup to you /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Welcome to the coffee club! I've been drinking strong, black coffee since my college days when I had to pull some all nighters writing and testing programs in the computer science lab. It's amazing that I continued drinking coffee given the dark liquid that usually came out of the coffee machines. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

My second Green Mountain Coffee order just arrived yesterday so I have 7 more kinds of coffee to sample. Yum. I just ground some beans and made a fresh pot of Tanzanian Peaberry. Three smells that can't be beat. A diesel engine running, frying bacon and coffee (brewing or grinding). Ah, life is good, even though we just had a re-org at work and I no longer lead the people I've worked with for 7 years. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Instead, I will head up a team of 10 other people in the Info Security dept.

Yes, I am a member of the "Coffee Club" too. I was interested to learn that coffee was discovered/introduced by Sufi mystics in the Middle East who used it to stay up all night while chanting to God. Kind of like what we do here on TBN.

I also think we are VERY LUCKY to have world experts on coffee right here. Green Mountain Coffee is also, I understand, the OFFICIAL coffee of the TBN staff. Can't get a better endorsement than that, IMO.

Hey, come to think of it, how about a "TBN Blend." Or what can be recommended specifically for TBN viewing/posting and/or tractor riding?????

My favorite of the moment is Green Mountain Kenya AA. I would get the "Turkish Blend", because it is muddier and darker than Kenya AA, but haven't seen my Turkish Blend available for many months now.

This is not good Rob /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif you got to pace yourself for the there long term affects.
Always looking for another cup, anything w/the name coffee on it you will try, watching for coffee sales, when you make a pot of coffee and really hope nobody else wants any, than you know you gone over the edge when you can't go by a Dunkin Donuts w/out stopping to get a cup along w/a donut,or your hand start to take shape of your favorite coffee cup, when you put one an half teaspoons of coffee to a cup /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gifan there ain't nothing like a hot cup w/a cigar. /w3tcompact/icons/love.gif

Now you guys will probably wack me over the head…/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Well… it must be me and my taste buds… I really have tried some “exotic bean coffee’s” and I couldn’t tell any difference other than my wallet being much lighter when it was over. In a number of cases, it was like someone just added some “food flavoring” over dried beans and packaged it up…

I just ground up some Eight O’Clock Bean Coffee… brewed it and poured it into one of my 88 cent WalMart John Deere mugs… and now savoring it as I type… Uuummm Uuummm Good… Ooopss wrong commercial… /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Top of the Coffee morning to ya guys… /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Well, my office mates suggest I've had enough this morning, but I just can't stop. We've got a fine selection here; Folgers, Old Grampas (or something) and Folgers decaf. OK, now here's something I just don't understand... decaffienated coffee /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif What's the point? Kind of like alcohol free beer. Why not just drink water. In fact, I've got a big mug of water going right now too, but I just can't seem to put down this coffee mug. JM-III, I too have one of those 88 cent JD mugs, got it for Christmas from a bro-in-law who didn't realize I didn't drink coffee (at least way back then). I'll have to bring it in as it is a bit bigger than the cup I'm using now. I'm so pleased to be off the diet Dew. Yes, this coffee thing is going to work just fine. This last cup I couldn't wait for the coffee maker to finish so I pulled out the pot and set my cup right under the stream. Is that acceptable coffee etiquite? How about leaning in there and letting it drip right into your mouth? And you guys don't think I'm over doing it do you? Hey wait, why are my office mates coming at me with rope and duct tape? Help...

John, I have to agree with you. I have also tried some of the "exotics" and keep going back to the "Eight O'Clock brand of beans. From time to time I will buy a pound or so of the flavored beans. We may be ostracized for drinking such common proletariat coffee, but I think it is pretty good.

John,
I kinda remember the post....I've yet to see our WalMart store carry JD mugs,/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif wondering if this was a one time event.
I got to admit there some real nasty coffee out there /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif and if you or anybody else brave enough to try peanut butter coffee /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif you can have my fair share...its just plain nasty. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

Like the earlier post...maybe TBNer's should have there own blend /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif but what to call the blend /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif..
Big K..Kubota Koffee. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Have another cup and stay safe and warm out there.

Hey, Pete (Boondox), I think John needs a visit from the GMC SWAT Team. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

What I've always wished I could do is have 3 or 4 coffee makers, brew up different blends in each and do a blind taste test. I suppose I could buy 3 or 4 carafes, instead of coffee makers. Hmm, never thought of that. We really need more carafes for time when we have guests.

John, you have used filtered water (vs tap water) and a gold mesh filter (vs a paper one), right?
