Coffee ...Wow !

Just wondering if anyone will try the pressed coffee I mention in my earlier post ? It may take a bit longer than a more traditional coffee maker but I think the results are much better. Although I'm still looking for a bigger press to make more than 3 cups at a time.

I had some made in a press last fall... to be honest I don't remember much of a difference.

Hi all

I roast my own coffee. Started with a small Gene Cafe (a small Korean madfe machine) that roasts 250 grams but a couple of years ago got a proper Has Garanti roaster that can do 2 kg at a time. I usually do 1 kg. Its wonderful trying coffees from different counties and different regions.

For a coffee machine I have an nice espresso machine, a manual LaPavoni lever machine and a Moka pot and plunger. All can make very different coffee from the same coffee.

Coffee is wonderful if it's made from good beans, raosted well and made well. I won't say here what many people think of Starbucks or instant coffee

I'm not entirely convinced on using coffee beans yet.

Perhaps I'll try them one day and never go back to instant, but maybe I won't.

We'll see.

Italians make very good coffee and are very particular about it. In the morning it is cappuccino and biscotti, after lunch it is caffee. I got educated about that when I was working in Brindisi many years back. They asked me what I want drink after lunch. I blurted out cappuccino and was told that I was a barbarian knowing nothing about drinking coffee. Nobody drinks cappuccino after lunch.
