CNH T1030 v. BX2350 v. JD2305

I was just looking at the first pictures of the new Massey CG2410 in the Massey Ferguson section, and have to comment here that it is really refreshing to see a manufacturer respond to the desires of it's users as Massey has seen fit to do with this new model. It strikes me that they take this market segment seriously, and have to be voted "most improved" in their efforts to satisfy customers. There have been minor complaints on the existing GC2310 like gages, and the new one has the requested gages; Brake location, it has been moved to the left side; things like backhoe controls seem more robust, and protected from the elements, and not less, as is the loader joystick. The list reads like a shopping list, and it's impressive how well Massey has listened, and acted on customer input.

I have to say that my hat is off to a company that has seemed to listen, instead of dictate, and improve rather than cheapen. If I were going to buy a tractor of this size, I certainly would look closely at this one! I already liked their large, low rpm, and quiet engine, and the smooth backhoe response, and power at more quiet rpm's.

Last spring I was trying to make a choice between the TZ25 and the BX2350. I actually prefered the TZ25. The mower deck was quieter , the dash was more informative that the BX, and I liked the way the throttle was setup. But in the end the seat, and the way it was mounted on the TZ stopped me from buying at the time. CNH had a better rate than Kubota, and I put off purchasing at that time.
After hearing that NH had redesigned the TZ's I stopped by the local dealer today and got a look at the T1010/T1030. This dealer also sells Kubota's so I could look at both the T1010/1030, the TZ25 and the BX2350. NH has moved the brake pedal on the T1010/1030 to the left side like Massey did. The seat has been redesigned and has a better looking mount that the TZ did. It might actually sit a little lower on the frame than it did on the TZ's. It was cold and damp out today, so I didn't try the new seat out. NH has dropped the 54" deck and only offers the 60incher now. The NH's are still several hundred dollars more that the Kubota's, but they are worth looking at in my opinion.

The biggest gripe I had with the BX was its uncomfortable seat and the fading paint of the tractors which the dealer had on the lot. I went to another Kubota dealer, and the Kubota's didn't seem nearly as worn out. I think that this was a function of the particular dealer keeping stock outside for a long time. The BX seat has been corrected, and here in Canada, the price of the BX has been further reduced such that the BX2350 is about $1500 less than a JD2305. The NH are pretty expensive, although they appear to be fantastic machines. Given my reservations, I couldn't justify the extra money when I had really good alternatives available.

After all of that, I bought a B2620 earlier this week. A B2320 is about the same price of a JD2305. But the Kubota gives you a liquid cooled transmission instead of the fan, stronger and faster hydraulics, three speed hydro, folding rops, drive over deck etc. Moving up to the B2620 gave me a lot more power (its not just an extra 3 hp, the engine is about 15% larger, so setup of the engine is such that it should have considerably more torque), and a larger footprint (wider tires), and a much stronger loader.

All in all, I'm very happy with my choice. I'm going to be using it primarily for mowing, and I have some large hills to mow, so the three range hydro on the B should be fantastic.

P.S. With Kubota's new pricing here in Canada, the B2620 came in about $2,000.00 less than the JD2320. That's what sealed the deal for me. It was a toss up for me when they were priced the same. When the prices came down in Canada on the Kubota's, it became a no brainer.

I am the owner of a T 1030 and have logged on 187 hrs with no problems as long as the dealer does a proper pre delivery they work great, the mower deck is very tough and the tractor has good power.I was a tech at case and we made sure all points were set properly,to many places don't check hyds and linkages settings on pto thus causing problems, the kubota dealer where i worked at one point had issues of all kinds due to poor pre delivery.the reason i went with NH was due to the fact that case and NH merged and the case tractors were indentical to the NH and then due to politics in the company,NH got it so case couldnt sell them any more due to case having a patent on the stieger quad track and on the record sales out selling NH so if your wondering they are identical other than front grill and lights
