clutch replacement surprise

Hello to the brain trust.....New Holland TC33DA hydrostatic had a bad clutch. Got inside and found oil in the clutch housing and this(photo) what in the hell does anyone think it could be. Def signs of mice around the tractor but this is so consistent one thing almost looks like it grew there. I'm not working on the unit at dealer and they sent me the photo. Clutch was def toast but tech couldn't even tell what it was asked to save for me so I can send off to the lab.....LOL....Any ideas appreciated....
