Clutch repair, New Holland 40hp, New Member question

This has probably been answered a million times, but since I don't have the answer I will ask. I have a New Holland 40hp boomer, year 2005 and it appears the clutch is worn and needs to be replaced. since I live in a remote area (island in fact) the cost to trailer the tractor is very expensive so I will need to use someone local. The tractor is well cared for (always garaged) and I am the original owner so I am trying to figure out what should be a fair price to replace the clutch and possibly the pressure plate and bearing. Besides misc seals are there any other expensive parts required and what should I expect to pay for the complete job. I know the tractor will need to be split and the labor time quoted was about 16 hours, possible less. Mechanically I understand cars but no clue with a tractor so any ideas will help Thanks

It can be involved depending on how much stuff is attached between the two halves you want to seperate but its pretty straight forward job otherwise. The only tricky part is realigning the clutch so it mates with the transmission spline. If you can get at the pressure plate bolts with the tractor together then you can put it together loose enough that you can wiggle everything together and then tighten it later.

You should replace the throw out bearing while you're in there but other than the clutch and pressure plate that's the only bits that are usually changed. Typical shop rate would be around $50 an hour plus parts.

This is not a job I want to tackle and at this point I am looking a $1525.00 for parts and $1600 for labor as a high end quote. will cost me around $500.00 just to move it to the mainland and back if I find a better price so just trying to work it out in my head as to what makes sense. Do not have a New Holland repair shop within about 80-100 miles so have to take my chances with a qualified mechanic if I go with the price quoted. Anyway thats the score on my end.

My cost using a hy cap clutch and bearing is under 700 for clutch disc, plate, machining of flywheel and chemical sealants.
