Hi all,

I have a problem with my B7100DT with the clutch stuck or frozen in engaged mode. Just prior to the clutch getting stuck It was have problems dis-engaging, meaning I could release the clutch pedal but it would be 3-4 seconds before it would full release or engage. I lubed everywhere that had a zerk fitting previously. It seems that it is stuck internally as I was unable to move the linkage arm at the clucth housing.

Any Ideas? I'm going to call service this morning to have them fix my problem. Also what would a new clutch cost if it needs replacement?

Thanks
Mike

I had that happen one time with my old Ford pickup. Turned out that one of the damper springs on the clutch somehow got loose and wedged itself between the disc and the pressure plate. I hope that's not your problem because it means a clutch replacement. Good luck with it.

As with Mr. HerringChoker, I had the exact same symptoms and exact same cause in an old Honda Civic I built as a teenager. There are 3 or 4 of those little, stiff, brittle spings on the plate that take a small amount of "shock" out of abrupt engagement of the clutch by creating a buffer between the wear plate and the splined power shaft. Whatever it is, sure doesn't sound like much fun.

Get you a maintenance manual and split the tractor and replace your clutch or let the dealer do it.

Thanks guys, spoke to my kubota service mechanic and he suspects the springs may have broke as you mentioned. I don't have the time to fix it myself so I will leave it to the expert to fix it, so I'm out of commission for the next week and a half /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif; oh well I need a break anyway.

Worst case to fix $500 for entire clutch replace if needed.
