Closing Uplands Preserve

I have had gamebirds for about 35 years,pheasant,quail and chukars,started a preserve 22 years ago.We are in New York state near the Canadian border.Going to miss all the people and dogs and friends we have made over the years.
Never was a money making proposition more of a keep busy/retirement job.Year round because I hatched and raised all my birds.
We had a decent year but cost just keep going up and getting older myself and our dogs are aging out too.Had back surgery a couple years ago and my son has had to do the bulk of the guiding and manual work.
Gave up both my licenses as of May 1,2025.

It sounds like you had a good run. I've enjoyed a lot of quail hunting in my youth. I'm sorry to read it has come to a close as all things do.
Enjoy your dogs in the autumn of their lives.
