195 in some respects, and a 240 in others.

The 195 has a 2t84a engine, the 1700 has a 2tr17a. Both those engines use the same head according to Hoye but pistons are different. Both engines use the same crankshaft. Both tractors use the same 2 wheel drive spindle. Both tractors use the same hi/low shift fork. Seems to me there is a whole lot alike on them.

I don't think anyone said there wasn't a similarity between the 195 and 1700?

Soundguy, I think you might have taken me wrong. I was simply trying to show some of the similarity's. Wasn't trying to say there weren't other similiar models. If my post was offensive to you I apologize. Didn't mean it that way at all.

not at all.. the 195 is probably one of the most similar as you point out, witht he 240 as a close second
