It's good to hear so many positive remarks.
So ... I've bit the bullet and signed myself up for the M7040SUHD, managing to pay more than I ever have on any other vehicle I've owned. It has no cab, and my only extra was a soft-ride loader and a bale spear (LA1153). I agree with Bilrus61 that the 12 speed transmission would sure be nice, but I was happy to get what I have -- and avoid the DPF emission systems. The way I'm looking at it is an investment. I'm 45 and hopefully this tractor will last for the rest of my tractor-driving days.
Delivery is next month. Really looking forward to it ...

Oh it will. Keep up on the maintenance and it will outlive any of us.

Congratulations!

I had to wait a month for mine when I bought it, it was exhausting  :drink:

I have a M7040 with the loader and cab. The loader has two positions for the lift cylinders which I really like although changing positions is really a two person job if you dont want to go nuts. In one position you have more lifting capacity but less height. In the other position load capacity is reduced but lift height increases noticeably. The extra height has helped in lifting bundles of shingles unto a roof, or having someone working with a pole saw in the bucket trimming high branches. I know these practices are unsafe but sometimes you have to just do things as carefully as you can if you don't have the funds. I pull an inverted 90" snow blower and it is rare for the engine rev's to drop under a heavy load. I am old and disabled so I really enjoy the cab with good heat and AC. Not having to wear hearing protection since the cab is quiet is nice.

Congrats on your new tractor. The wait is the hard part now.

I have basically the same tractor with the LA1153 loader on a 5040. Your 7040 would have a higher horsepower version of the engine and larger tires and rims on the rear, but very similar to the 5040. I commonly fill the bucket with gravel or sand and the loader will pick both with no problem. My tires are loaded and I keep the bucket low, but again the loader is stout. I also commonly pick a one ton pallet of wood pellets and move them around with ease and stack them two high. I would recommend that you get the hydraulic shuttle though and you won't ever be sorry about that.
