clever way to remove stage 2 shear pin in auger fast

I few days ago I broke the shear pin on my boomer 2 stage blower.. No big deal you say but.. it was the pin on the auger.. NO way to get a drift pin punch and hammer in there to drive out the old pin.. I tried to figure out how I could get to that pin without taking the blower apart. So I took a trip to my local harbor Freight and purchased a pneumatic palm nailer. YEP.. and then cut a 2" piece of steel rod 5/16" size of the pin.. put that thing in there lined up the hole and broke pin and gave it a shot.. literally 10 minutes to fix it and back on the road.. neat Look in the human mistakes post to learn how I broke it if you want a good laugh. Yep I am pretty human I proved it.

I would have suggested maybe a c clamp with a nut or some spacer on the other side.

I thought the auger is what pulls the snow to the center and the impeller is what throws it. Are you talking about the impeller?

Sorry guys.. I am talking about the stage 2. so Yes Impeller. My mistake. I though C clamp also which would be nice but cant get it in there so it could be turned. For the 10 seconds it took to do it I did use the hearing muffs.
