Man it was fun, and I gave my 6' brush cutter a hard way to go, not to mention the FET pushing over the bigger trees. This field had not been cut in 10 years.

Good work  The nice thing is how quick it comes back to grass.

Good, I plan on killing what comes back and then drilling in NWSG this spring.

What varieties are you going to plant? We planted Big Blue Stem, Little Blue Stem, Indian Grass, and Switchgrass quite a few years ago.

Not sure what varieties yet. But I'm sure it will be simular to the ones you listed.

If you haven't already, check with your County Extension Office as you will need specialized planters that you can get from them. Establishing this type of grass takes a while or at least it did for us. Good luck.

Nice job. Beautiful landscape. Like your 5525 also--looks a lot like mine :)

Our field was worse than yours and after 3 years of cutting it 5-6 times per year the grasses have come back thicker and eventually crowded out the weeds.

Our fields are now probably 95 percent weed free. The first time we cut it the grass was very thin and now it is extremely thick and we have not done any treatment to it.

Did it come back in fescue or native grasses. I don't think mine would come back in natives. There have not been any planted around here in a generation.
