Cleaning Bug goo

I know many probably already know this one, but I had never heard it, and was just amazed at how well it worked.

I was washing my truck and could not get the bug goo off the front, tried different bottles of bug and tar remover, following the directions etc, and it was still bug gut covered.

Speaking with my dad last night, he said wet a dryer sheet (like Bounce) mine was the one from Sams Club, anyway, walked out in the rain, and started wiping the front down with that dryer sheet and man it came incredibly clean with no effort.

Just love it when things work, they are cheap, and I already keep them around.

Just thought I would share.

I have hard this but yet to try it. At the airport we use 75% white vinegar, 25% water in a old spay bottle on the airplanes. Spay it on the bugs and let it sit for 15 seconds or longer if need and wipe off with a soft towel. Works great and is dirt cheap.

I use the dryer sheet trick every time I want to get my truck really clean when I wash it. It works great. I have noticed that when I finish it leaves a slight film on the chrome, but a quick wipe with a microfiber towel and the chrome really shines. There's hardly any rubbing to get bugs off with a dryer sheet.

Interesting concept. I'll have to give that a try. So far that's two ways to use bounce on tractors/cars. 1. keep mice away. 2. clean bug goo . Hmm I see a trend here - bounce takes care of critter issues. I wonder if it wouldd work with deer ?

Dryer sheets keep mice away?

Got to try that one, they are making a very happy (dry) home in the dump truck and the backhoe.

the Finish mower has been sitting in the garage for months and not used.
I was cleaning up yesterday and found that a rat or mouse or something made a big nest under the belt guard...

So is it the stuff on the dryer sheets that helps "cut" the bugs or is it just the sheet itself is a good scrubber? Stated differently, do used sheets (after they have been used in the dryer) or do they need to be new unused sheets?

Recently I was fixing my mom's dryer and noticed a little note in the owners manual regarding those dryer sheets and the drying performance of the dryer. It stated that the dryer sheets will 'clog' the lint trap filter screen on the dryer. (it basically builds up on the screen) It recommended using very HOT water and a nail brush to clean the lint trap and remove the build up of the residue. It didn't look like anything was on it until, I tried it.

I'll have to try that. My truck seems to clean up pretty good from bugs (2007 Dodge) but my wife 300C doesn't. It seems like the softer plastic front ends they put on cars are hard to get the bugs off.
