Cleaning air filter

I have no air compressor. Could I just clean the outer air filter of my MF 235 with a water hose, let dry, reinstall, and keep on ranching?

Use a shop van on either BLOW or VACUUM, works good enough with no compressor. Water will deform the filter media and if too wet blow a hole in it, and what's not cleaned will tuen into hard mud like cement darn near, so no air gets through after the water wash.

Most OEM specs say to just tap the filter gently on the tire while rotating it to dislodge loose dirt. That will work to remove enough dirt for the filter to be used again.

Just reread this, While rotating the filter, not the tire. Just so everything is clear.
